Author Visits

Hampton-school-visit

Kaye loves visiting schools, kindergartens, daycare centres and libraries, to share her stories and experiences, in hope of inspiring the budding writer and artist within the children.

The author/illustrator visits are highly recommended for PREP to Year 4.

The purpose of Kaye's visit is to capture the children's interest during story telling; discuss the importance of editing, reading and imagination for creative writing; to encourage the children to experiment with art and to share how the stories began.

Kaye is available at short notice in the Whitsunday Region, and will travel state-wide or interstate to the schools and libraries, who are interested in having an Australian author/illustrator visit their children.

Author Visit Reviews

Kaye visited each of the Year 1 classes at Proserpine State School.

The children thoroughly enjoyed listening to her stories she had published, Kaye spoke about the inspiration for her stories coming from real life events, people and animals in her life on the farm.

The children could relate well to the topics and asked many questions.
Kaye also explained the process she followed to write, illustrate and publish her books, which encouraged the children to write and illustrate their own stories after her visit.

Kaye was warm, friendly and enthusiastic. The children loved interacting with her and her stories.

Kaye's visit encouraged students to dive deeper into reading and writing for both pleasure and purpose and understand the power of marketing and persuasion.

Kaye spent time having rich conversations with the students about editing, characters and the publishing process.

We all enjoyed hearing Kaye's real life farm stories and learning some tips and tricks of effective story telling.

Thank you for teaching our Prep - 6 students Kaye. The students were able to make plenty of connections to your stories.
